Adding a Video To ClipMagic
How to Add and Edit Videos in ClipMagic
There are two main ways to navigate and add videos in ClipMagic, plus a way to continue editing previous projects. Follow these steps:
Option 1: Add Captions to Your Video
Open the ClipMagic app.
Go to the Home tab at the top left of the app.
Click on “Add Captions” just below the “Welcome to ClipMagic” message.
From here, you can:
- Upload a video (short or normal length)
- Edit the video
- Add captions, styles, and call-to-action elements
Option 2: Turn Long Videos into Viral Reels and Stories
Next to the “Add Captions” button, click “Turn Long Videos into Viral Reels and Stories”.
Here you can:
- Upload long videos
- Trim or crop them into short clips
- Edit, add captions, styles, and call-to-action elements
Option 3: Continue Editing Recent Projects
- Scroll down to “Recent Projects” on the home page.
- Click on any previously saved video to continue editing.
Option 4: Projects Tab – Upload New or Existing Videos
Click the Projects tab at the top of the app.
You can choose:
- New Folder: If the video is already in a folder, select the folder to add or edit the video.
- Saved Video: Click on any previously saved video in the app to continue editing.
- New Video: Upload a completely new video to edit in ClipMagic.
- After selecting the video, you can edit, add captions, styles, and call-to-action elements just like in the Home tab.
Once you’ve added a video to ClipMagic, captions will automatically appear. You can customize them by changing the Caption Presets and settings.
How to Change Caption Presets in ClipMagic
Once you’ve added a video to ClipMagic, captions will automatically appear. You can customize them by changing the Caption Presets and settings.
Step 1: Open Caption Options
- After your video is added, look at the left side of the screen.
- This panel contains all available caption design options.
Step 2: Navigate Preset Categories
- At the top of the caption options panel, you will see tabs labeled:
- All – Displays all available fonts and caption styles
- Standard – Fonts available for all users
- Pro – Fonts available for Pro subscription users
- Faves – Your most frequently used fonts, automatically saved here
- Saved – Fonts you personally customized and saved
How to Make Your Captions More Fun in ClipMagic

Captions help people understand your video—especially since most people watch without sound. ClipMagic lets you make your captions more fun by adding emojis, effects, pictures, or even short clips.
📝 Easy Steps
- Go to Captions
- After you upload your video, look at the top left.
Click on “Captions” (it’s just below Presets and Style).
Use Magic Emojis
- At the top, click “Magic Emojis.”
- Emojis will automatically be added to your captions. 🎉
Pick Words per Caption
You’ll see an option called “Words (per Caption)” with numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Choose how many words you want to show at a time.
Example: 1 = one word at a time. 5 = a short sentence.
Edit Each Clip
At the bottom, you’ll see small pieces of your video (clips).
Click on one, and you’ll see options to:
- Add an emoji 😀
- Add a picture or GIF 🖼️
- Add video effects ✨
- Add B-roll (extra video) 🎬
- Add a caption above or below the main capt
Make your captions stand out by integrating videos, video effects, or images. This option adds visual elements that make your content more engaging.
To add videos, video effects, or images, click on a caption. Then, select the corresponding icon for videos, video effects, or images to add the desired elements.
